Latin American Studies
 

The Department of History and Anthropology at Edinboro University offers an undergraduate degree program in Latin American Studies. An interdisciplinary program that brings together faculty from nine different departments in two schools (Liberal Arts and Science, Management, and Technology).  Latin American Studies offers both a specialized and integrative approach to preparation for competing in the international job market.

The Latin American Studies Major will prepare graduates to compete in our global society, enabling them to work for international corporations, federal, state, and local governments, social services, and in education. Its design will also provide graduates with the necessary background to pursue advanced academic study either in graduate or law school. The program prepares students to become global citizens in the 21st century. The strength and flexibility of the program is found in its structure:

The student who graduates with this degree will provide an invaluable service for any company. According to the U.S. Department of Labor webpage (2003), a "number of international companies lost contracts in Latin America due to a lack of cultural sensitivity." This program will provide students with a understanding of Latin American culture and enable graduates to find employment in the U.S. and Latin America.
