JOSH KOSCECK NAMED EWL AND PSAC WRESTLER OF THE WEEK

Two-time All-American Wins NWCA All-Star Classic Match

EDINBORO, PA - Edinboro University two-time All-American Josh Koscheck (Waynesburg, PA/ Waynesburg) has been named the Eastern Wrestling League and Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week thanks to a dominating performance at the NWCA All-Star Classic, and two dual match victories.

The redshirt junior opened the week at the All-Star Classic in Lancaster, PA facing Otto Olson, the former top-ranked wrestler in the weight class. Koscheck solidified his spot at the top of the rankings, dominating Olson for the entire seven minutes. The Fighting Scot scored two takedowns, an escape, and racked up over five minutes of riding time.

Against Gannon and Clarion, Koscheck wrestled up a weight at 184 pounds to compensate for the loss of starter Justin Millard (Laceyville, PA/Wyalusing). He responded by scoring a 22-7 technical fall against Dave Spinelli of Gannon, and pinning Clarion's PSAC champion Bob Topper in 2:37.

The consensus number one ranked wrestler in the nation, Koscheck is off to a 31-0 start, winning 40 of his last 41 matches. He's an amazing 112-18 as a Fighting Scot, one win behind Dean Hall for tenth place on the career wins list. He captured his third PSAC title in January, earning Outstanding Wrestler honors for the second time in three seasons.

He owns victories over eleven nationally-ranked grapplers this season, after defeating 16 a year ago. He has also claimed the championships at the Oklahoma Classic and Slippery Rock Open, while recording a team leading ten falls and seven major decisions.

Koscheck earned his second straight All-American honors last season, finishing as the runner-up at 174 pounds at the NCAA Tournament, losing by a 3-0 score to undefeated Byron Tucker of Oklahoma in the finals. He returns after last season's 38-4 performance, looking to become just the fifth three-time All-American for Edinboro and just its second National Champion.

The Fighting Scots return to action next Wednesday, February 14 against EWL rival Pittsburgh at 7:30 p.m.
