RENEE KAM NAMED PSAC WEST VOLLEYBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Freshman Leads Scots to Three Consecutive Wins

EDINBORO, PA - Edinboro University freshman Renee Kam (Eden, NY/Eden) has been named the PSAC West Volleyball Player of the Week for her performance in the Mercyhurst Lady Laker Volleyball Invitational this past weekend.

Edinboro went undefeated in its three matches, improving its record to 6-5. The first-year standout registered 209 assists, boosting her average to 12.78 per game.

In the opening match, Kam recorded 76 assists versus Indiana (PA). That ranks fifth among four-game assist totals in Edinboro's history. In the following day of play, Kam contributed 53 assists as Edinboro disposed of Mercyhurst in three games. The 5'9" freshman added 80 assists in a five-game victory over California (PA). The 80 assists place Kam third school history among five-game totals.

The setter leads the Fighting Scots with 524 total assists. Kam also leads the squad with 17 service aces and is second on the team for blocks with 5 solo and 17 assisted.

After an eleven-game road trip this season, Edinboro will play its first home game on Thursday, September 13, hosting local rival Gannon University at 7:00 p.m.
