EDINBORO, PA -- Edinboro University freshman guard Dan Grabill (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) has been named the PSAC West Rookie of the Week for the second straight week. Grabill joins fellow freshman Jakim Donaldson (Pittsburgh, PA/Oliver) as a two-time winner. Donaldson won the award in back-to-back weeks in December.
A 5'10" 155 lb. point guard, Grabill helped the Fighting Scots to wins over Clarion and Shippensburg this past week. He contributed 11 points in the Clarion victory, making 4 of 7 field goals and 3 of 6 free throws, along with 5 assists and a steal. In addition, he helped limit Clarion point guard Rollie Smith, last year's PSAC Tournament MVP, to just eight markers.
Grabill added 8 points, 3 assists and a steal at Shippensburg, making 2 of 3 field goals, both three-pointers, along with 2 of 2 free throws. The former General McLane High School standout ranks fourth on the team in scoring at 7.4 ppg. while leading the Fighting Scots with 48 assists. He is shooting 53.5 percent from the floor, including an impressive 21 of 38 (55.3 percent) from beyond the three-point arc.
