EDINBORO, PA - Krystal Henson (Rome, OH/Grand Valley) set a new Edinboro record for three-pointers in a game when she made 10 baskets from behind the arc. The junior poured in a career-high 32 points in a 95-55 win over Columbia Union on Tuesday, December 4.
The previous record of 9 three-pointers was set by Megan Miller versus Holy Family in 1997-98.
The 5'4" junior shot 10 of 16 from three-point range, dished out four assists and grabbed three steals in the victory. Henson has made 16 three-pointers in the last two games, draining six against Kutztown. She scored 26 points at Kutztown and is now averaging 20.0 ppg. The tri-captain is shooting 54.5 percent from behind the arc (18 of 33) and averages 4.5 three-pointers per game.
Henson ranks third for career three-pointers with 128. She is only 13 three's away from moving into second place. Henson also ranks fourth for career three-pointers attempted with 335. In her first year at Edinboro, she hit 51 three-pointers, breaking the record for most three's by a freshman, then accumulated 59 three-pointers in her sophomore year, ranking third all-time for season totals. Henson has 555 career points.
Edinboro is off to a 4-0 start to the season and will host Madonna on Friday, December 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fighting Scot Invitational and then finishes the tournament against Wayne State at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
