WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY TEAM MOVES UP TWO SPOTS IN NATIONAL RANKINGS

Women Ranked 4th, Men Remain 18th

EDINBORO, PA - The Edinboro University women's cross country team moved up two spots from sixth to fourth in the latest NCAA Division II Cross Country Top 25. The men's team, meanwhile, remained in the 18th position. Edinboro returns to action on Wednesday, October 20 in the Tour de Scots at Wooster, Ohio.

Both teams turned in strong showings at the Willamette Invitational in Oregon this past weekend. Both the men and the women finished second, with the men's field featuring 29 teams and the women's 31 teams. California State-Chico, ranked third in both the men's and women's rankings, finished first. The men's team easily outdistanced the fighting Scots, winning 33 to 117. But the women's race was closer despite the final total of 48 to 82 points. There was just a one point difference bewteen the top three finishers for each team, but Edinboro's fourth and fifth runners finished 31st and 32nd, while Chico's were 15th and 16th.
