EDINBORO RANKED 24th IN AFCA DIVISION II TOP 25

Fighting Scots Reappear After Falling Out Following First Week

EDINBORO, PA - It took two months, but Edinboro has re-emerged in the American Football Coaches Association Division II rankings. The Fighting Scots were ranked 21st in the AFCA preseason poll, but fell out after dropping a 20-7 decision to East Stroudsburg in the season opener. After winning five straight games to improve to 7-2, Edinboro has moved back into the poll in the 24th position.

Both of Edinboro's losses have come to nationally-ranked teams. East Stroudsburg is currently ranked 13th, while Shippensburg, a 17-10 winner over the Fighting Scots, is ranked 12th. West Chester is a fourth PSAC school in the Top 25, with the Rams ranked 21st.

In addition to the AFCA rankings, Edinboro shows up in two other polls this week. The Football Gazette Top 40 has the Scots ranked 22nd, while D2Football.com has Edinboro 24th.

Edinboro concludes the regular season on Saturday, November 6, hosting Lock Haven in a 1:00 p.m. kickoff.
