FIGHTING SCOTS RANKED AMONG FOOTBALL STATISTICAL LEADERS

EDINBORO, PA - Several Edinboro University football players are ranked among the national leaders in the latest NCAA Division statistics. The Fighting Scots are 4-2 after recording a 42-28 triumph over California(Pa.) last Saturday, and host Indiana(Pa.) on Saturday, October 16.

Andre Burke (Wilkinsburg, PA/Valley) ranks in three categories. The 5'10", 205 lb. junior tailback is third in scoring, with 13 touchdowns for 13.0 ppg. He is also seventh in rushing with an average of 142.2 ypg. He comes off back-to-back 100-yard games, including a season-high 203 yards on 27 carries with 3 TDs against California(Pa.). Burke is also ranked 99th in all-purpose yardage at 152.5 ypg.

Justin Bouch (Brackenridge, PA/Highlands) ranked among the passing efficiency leaders a year ago and is once again among the national leaders. The junior quarterback has completed 77 of 131 passes for 1,152 yards with 7 TDs and 7 INTs. He ranks 24th with a passing efficiency of 139.6.

On the defensive side of the ball, redshirt freshman free safety Tom Davidson (Geneva, OH/Geneva) and sophomore outside linebacker Jim Soltis (Garrettsville, OH/Cardinal) are tied for 12th in interceptions with four apiece. Senior inside linebacker Dylan Wessell (Rome, OH/ Jefferson) is tied for 30th in forced fumbles with a pair.

Edinboro is ranked 17th in Division II in rushing defense, giving up an average of 93.3 ypg. Only two teams have managed to rush for 100 yards against the Fighting Scots this year. The Scots are also 29th in scoring defense (18.0 ppg.).
