EDINBORO, PA - Several Edinboro University football players are ranked among the national leaders in the latest NCAA Division statistics. The Fighting Scots are 1-1 after recording a 54-12 triumph over WVU Tech last Saturday, and play at Tiffin on Saturday, September 18.
Andre Burke (Wilkinsburg, PA/Valley) ranks in two categories. The 5'10", 205 lb. junior tailback is tied for third in scoring, with five touchdowns in two games for 15.0 ppg. He is also 15th in rushing with an average of 125.5 ypg. He comes off a 173-yard, 4-TD effort against WVU Tech, and now has 251 yards on 35 carries.
Justin Bouch (Brackenridge, PA/Highlands) ranked among the passing efficiency leaders a year ago and is once again among the national leaders. The junior quarterback has completed 27 of 42 passes for 401 yards with 1 TD and 2 INTs. He ranks 30th with a passing efficiency of 142.8.
On the defensive side of the ball, senior inside linebacker Dylan Wessell (Rome, OH/ Jefferson) is tied for the Division II lead in forced fumbles with 2, while defensive tackle Chris Amico (Webster, NY/West Irondequoit) is tied for 34th with one in two games.
Edinboro is ranked fifth in Division II in rushing defense, giving up an average of 43.5 ypg. The Fighting Scots limited WVU Tech to minus 7 yards on the ground, the eighth-lowest figure in school history.
