Mission Statement
Organized over two decades ago, the Fighting Scot
Booster Club's primary mission is to provide financial support for
the athletic program while promoting community awareness and
involvement in the University. Each spring members of the Fighting
Scot Booster Club conduct a national and community-wide fund
raising campaign to support the cost of athletic operating
expenses. Student activity fees cover a portion of the operating
expenses, but private funding is crucial in maintaining the level
of excellence the Fighting Scot programs have enjoyed through the
years.

Booster Club members must
be aware of NCAA compliance rules, as members are deemed to be
representatives of athletic interests. A brochure, in PDF,
has been prepared stating what can, and cannot, be done.

Organized two decades ago, the Fighting Scot
Booster Clubs primary mission is to provide financial
support for the athletic program while promoting community
awareness and involvement in the University. An advisory group
dedicated to the advancement of athletics, its objective of
providing scholarships in support of student-athletes and their
goals parallels the departments mission of furthering
community awareness of the overall athletic department.
Each spring, members of the Fighting Scot
Booster Club will conduct a national and communitywide fund
raising campaign to support the cost of athletic operating
expenses. While student activity fees cover a portion of operating
expenses, private funding is crucial in maintaining the level of
excellence the Fighting Scot programs have enjoyed in recent
years.

- Endowments --
List of Endowment Donors
By choice, participants may wish to donate their funds to
enhance existing endowment scholarships within the department.
Since the inception of the Booster Club, over 50 individuals,
families, and/or corporations have set up named endowments to
supplement the scholarship account. The principle dollars of the
endowment are never used for scholarships, but rather the
interest generated is allotted each year for the designated
sport. If youre interested in setting up an endowed
scholarship, contact Bruce Baumgartner, Director Of Athletics,
by phone at (814) 732-2776 ext. 223 or via
e-mail.
- Gifts-in-Kind -- Contributing
capital assets such as property can help substantially reduce
your federal income taxes and future estate taxes. Gifts such as
equipment, technological products, etc. are welcomed.
- Securities -- A gift of appreciated
securities offers two benefits to the donor: (1) an income tax
deduction and (2) avoidance of capital gains tax on appreciated
value.
- Trusts -- You can make a gift today
and retain annual income for the remainder of your life through
the use of charitable remainder trusts and similar gift plans.
- Bequests -- Giving through your will
can be a convenient way to leave a lasting legacy.
To give gifts-in-kind, securities, etc., or
