COLEEN SNYDER CONBOY, 1986
Coleen (Snyder) Conboy for her honors as a member
of the cross country and track teams in the 1980s. Earned the
distinction of being Edinboros first-ever female
All-American during her career. Multiple PSAC and All-Region
performer, she was recognized as Edinboros Nancy Acker award
winner in 1986 as top female athlete.
GUY CONTI
Guy Conti for his service as a faculty member and
three-sport coach in the 1970s and 1980s. As head mens
basketball coach, he compiled 140 victories with a 59 percent
winning mark, third best in school history. Led the squad to
nationals and a 24-5 record in 1975-76. Edinboros Coach of
the Year in 1982. His teams earned five PSAC playoff berths.
ANTHONY CUTRI, 1940
Anthony Cutri for his achievements in the sports
of basketball and football at Edinboro State Teachers College from
1936-40. Continued his success as a coach for nearly three decades
including four league titles at nearby Girard High School.
Prolonged community service contributions, including past
president of Beaver Valley Coaches Association.
AL HALL
Al Hall for his years of dedicated service as
athletic director from 1969-80. Edinboro grew from a six-sport
athletic program to 16 under his leadership. Directed the schools
membership to the NCAA, ECAC and the Association for
Intercollegiate Athletics for Women. Assistant athletic director
at Akron University prior to tenure at Edinboro.
HARRY SPARKY GORTON
Harry Gorton for over a decade of service to the
athletic department, he becomes just the third individual honored
for contributions outside the playing field in the
16-year history of the Hall of Fame. Helped organize the Scotsman
wrestling club in the mid 1980s. Instrumental in the success of
Edinboros Division I program.
JOLENE NAGEL, 1983
Jolene Nagel for her achievements on the
volleyball court from 1979-82. Two-time co-captain, the team
recorded an outstanding 116 wins against just 43 losses over her
four-year career at the Boro. An All-PSAC performer, her
teams posted three NCAA regional titles, advancing to the national
tournament each time. Head volleyball coach at Georgetown
University since 1992.
ELLEN MULLIGAN, 1984
Ellen Mulligan for her outstanding basketball
accomplishments in the early 1980s. The schools initial
Nancy Acker award winner as the top female athlete in 1984, she
finished her career with 1,169 points and 528 rebounds. An
All-PSAC performer, she played in 91 games during her career. Her
72 blocked shots are currently sixth on the all-time list. |
