JAMES ABRAHAM, 1982
James Abraham for his outstanding career as a
member of the Fighting Scot Men's Tennis program. He finished with
an 84-11 singles record and 45-15 doubles record, serving as the
team captain in 1980-81 and 1981-82. He finished as the PSAC
singles runner-up in 1980, '81 and '82, and was the doubles
runner-up those three years, as well. In addition to winning the
NAIA District 18 singles and doubles championships in 1979, he
captured the Pennsylvania State singles title that same year. He
helped the 1982 Fighting Scot team capture the ECAC Division II
Championship while finishing in the top four in singles
competition. He was rated a Top 30 NCAA Division I East Coast
singles player in 1982.
JOE BROOKS, 1990
Joe Brooks for his outstanding career as a member
of the Fighting Scot Football program. A four-year starter at
guard and center, he earned All-PSAC honors in 1988 at center and
All-PSAC recognition in 1989 at guard. In addition, he was named a
Football Gazette second team All-American in 1989, and that same
year was named to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette All-Star Team. He
served as a co-captain on the 1989 football team which won the
PSAC championship and was Edinboro's first-ever NCAA Division II
Playoff team. He had the highest grade point average on the
football team and was a National Football Foundation Scholarship
Banquet recipient, along with being nominated for an NCAA
Post-Graduate Scholarship.
MARTY (MARCZAK) MCLAUGHLIN, 1993
Marty (Marczak) McLaughlin for her outstanding
career as a member of the Fighting Scot Cross Country and Track
and Field programs. She was a two-time All-American in track,
being named the 1992 Eastern "Small College" Athlete of
the Year. She was also recognized as the 1992 PSAC Outstanding
Athlete in track after finishing second in the NCAA Division II
Championships in the 800 meters. A four-time All-PSAC honoree in
track and a five-time PSAC individual champion, she set Edinboro,
PSAC and NCAA Regional records in the 800 meters. In cross
country, she twice earned All-Region honors while capturing
All-PSAC accolades three times. She was a finalist for the 1992
NCAA Woman of the Year Award, and a 1992 Olympic Trials qualifier
in the 800 meters.
CHRIS RAUBER, 1991
Chris Rauber for his outstanding career as a
member of the Fighting Scot Cross Country and Track programs. All
told, he earned All-American honors seven times, four in track and
three in cross country, including a second place finish at the
1989 NCAA Division II Cross Country National Championships. He was
named the PSAC Outstanding Athlete in track in 1989 and that same
year captured the award in cross country. A four-time All-East
Small College performer in track. The 1991 Sox Harrison Award
winner, he won the 1991 NCAA Indoor Championship in the 5,000
meters and helped the Edinboro cross country team to four National
Championships in five years.
DOUG WATTS
Doug Watts for his outstanding career as coach of
the Fighting Scot Cross Country and Track and Field programs.
Since taking over in 1969, he has guided the cross country team to
six national championships, including back-to-back-to-back NCAA
Division II titles (1986-1988), and back-to-back NAIA crowns
(1975-1976). He has led the Fighting Scots to five Division II
runner-up trophies, plus finishes of third (twice), fourth (three
times) and one fifth-place finish. The National Coach of the Year
five times, he has produced four individual cross country
champions and five individual track champions, along with
countless All-Americans in both sports. Since 1980, the men's
cross country team has won 20 PSAC titles and the women 11, since
1988. |
