AARON BROWN, 1992
Aaron Brown for his outstanding career as a
member of the Fighting Scot Men's Basketball program after serving
for four years in the United States Marine Corp. He ranks 12th in
career scoring with 1,228 points, eighth in career rebounds with
641 and ninth in blocked shots with 107. He began his career by
being named the PSAC West Rookie of the Year in 1988-89 after
averaging 13.8 ppg. and 6.7 rpg., and capped it by being named the
1992 Sox Harrison Award winner. He earned second team All-PSAC
West honors as a senior in 1991-92 when he averaged 15.4 ppg. and
6.7 rpg. Edinboro posted a 74-36 record during his four seasons.
WILLIE CHEALEY, 1985
Willie Chealey for his outstanding career as a
member of the Fighting Scot Football program. Despite battling
several injuries he was a three-year starter at linebacker,
finishing his career with 272 tackles. He enjoyed his finest
season as a junior in 1983, leading the team with 122 tackles. He
was an honorable mention Little All-America selection and earned
first team All-PSAC West and first team Pittsburgh Press
All-District accolades. The year before he was an honorable
mention All-PSAC West selection after recording 81 tackles.
Injuries limited him to six games as a senior, but he still
finished fourth in tackles with 53. He served as a two-year
co-captain.
JEANNINE JEAN-PIERRE, 1993
Jeannine Jean-Pierre for her outstanding career
as a member of the Fighting Scot Women's Basketball program. In
two seasons at Edinboro she scored 1,203 points, ranking 12th in
career scoring. In addition, she is ninth in career rebounds with
604. She averaged 21.4 ppg. and 11.7 rpg. as a junior, earning
first team Kodak All-American honors in 1992-93. In addition, she
was named the 1992-93 PSAC West Player of the Year and was
recognized as the Nancy Acker Award winner. She ranks second in
career scoring average (20.7 ppg.) and fourth in career rebounding
average (10.4 rpg.). She joined the Edinboro program after serving
the United States in Operation Desert Storm. A two-time All-PSAC
West first team selection, in her first season she averaged 20.0
ppg. and 9.1 rpg.
LOU ROSSELLI, 1993
Lou Rosselli for his outstanding career as a
member of the Fighting Scot Wrestling program. A two-time
All-American at 118 lbs., he finished third at the NCAA Division I
National Championships in 1993 and fourth in 1991. He ranks third
in career wins (136). As a senior, he was named the Outstanding
Wrestler at the EWL Tournament and PSAC Championships, finishing
with a 38-2 record. He was named the EWL and PSAC Rookie of the
Year in 1989, becoming the first Edinboro freshman to earn a trip
to the Division I Nationals. He was a three-time PSAC champion and
won the EWL title as a senior. He was named the 1993 Sox Harrison
Award winner and went on to enjoy an outstanding international
career, culminated by representing the United States in the 1996
Olympic Games.
DONNA THIBERT-MATTHEWS, 1993
Donna Thibert-Matthews for her outstanding career
as a member of the Fighting Scot Cross Country and Track and Field
programs. She displayed incredible resolve while overcoming injury
and illness to become a four-time All-American. Despite missing
virtually her entire senior season in 1992 with illness, she
returned late in the year to win the PSAC Cross Country
Championship, then won the NCAA East Regional title. She would go
on to finish fourth at the NCAA Division II National
Championships, and was named the PSAC and East Region Runner of
the Year. In 1989 she placed seventh at Nationals and won the PSAC
and East Regional individual championships. That spring she
finished as the runner-up in both the 3,000 and 5,000 meter races
at the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track Championships.
TAMMY WALKER-STRODE, 1992
Tammy Walker-Strode for her outstanding career as
a member of the Fighting Scot Women's Basketball program. In two
seasons, she accumulated 1,273 career points and 777 career
rebounds, setting seven season records. In 1990-91, she earned
honorable mention Kodak All-American honors and was a first team
All-PSAC selection after averaging 21.6 points and 12.6 rebounds.
Following the 1991-92 season, she was named the PSAC West Player
of the Year and was recognized as a first team Kodak All-American,
and later was honored as the Nancy Acker Award winner. She
averaged 23.0 points, ranking seventh in Division II, while
ranking second nationally in rebounding with 14.5 rpg. She set
school records for points (691) and rebounds (436) while leading
Edinboro to the NCAA Division II Playoffs. |
