EDINBORO, PA The Edinboro University
football team opened the 2005 campaign this past Saturday with a
47-0 win over visiting WVU Tech. It marked the first shutout for
the Fighting Scots since a 44-0 win at Cheyney in 1997. In
addition, it was the first season-opening win since 2002.
Edinboro jumped up two spots in both the AFCA
Division II Top 25 and the D2Football.com, to 12th in the AFCA
poll and 10th in the D2Football.com poll. The Fighting Scots play
at East Stroudsburg this weekend. The Warriors are ranked eighth
in the AFCA rankings and fifth according to D2Football.com.
