SLIPPERY ROCK, PA The Edinboro and
Slippery Rock womens soccer teams played 110 minutes without
scoring on Saturday. Back on September 17 they also played to a
0-0 tie in two overtimes.
The two teams will have to change that on
Tuesday, November 1 when they meet in the first round of the PSAC
Playoffs, as that contest will not be able to end in a scoreless
tie. After todays tie to conclude the regular season,
Edinboro will bring a record of 7-8-3 overall and 5-3-2 in the
PSAC West into the match, while Slippery Rock is 10-5-3 and 6-1-3.
The Fighting Scots, the third seed, will be
making their third appearance in the PSAC Playoffs in ten years.
The Rock is the number two seed. The winner will face
Indiana(Pa.).
Slippery Rock held an 18-9 advantage in shots,
but senior Trish Chilcott (Erie, PA/Harbor Creek) came up
big in goal. She recorded 10 saves for her sixth shutout of the
year, a new school record.
Tuesdays playoff game will begin at 3:00
