The Edinboro University women’s volleyball
team will advance to the semi-finals in the Atlantic Regional at
Lock Haven, Pa after defeating Mount Olive College 30-24, 38-36,
and 30-23. Edinboro improves to 26-15 with the victory, while
Mount Olive’s season comes to an end with a record of 28-8.
The Fight Scots will face the winner of the
match this afternoon between California (Pa.) and Lees-McRae game
on Friday November 18, 2005 at 5 p.m. The Fighting Scots dropped a
pair of contests to the Vulcan’s in regular season (0-3 and
0-3) while defeating Lees-McRae (3-2).
Alicia Knouff (Louisville, OH/Louisville)
led the Fighting Scots with 16 kills, a service ace and three
blocks. Jenna Newman (Reno, NV/Coronado) added 15 kills
and three service aces, while Ashley Cottengim (Fairport,
NY/Fairport) had 46 assists in the Fighting Scot victory. Also
contributing to the Edinboro win were Michelle Bator (West
Middlesex, PA/West Middlesex) with 17 digs and Tiffany
Trgovac (Irvine, CA/Irvine) with 12.
