Cross Country Teams Come Away With Disappionting Finish At Nationals

CHINO, CA – The Edinboro men’s and women’s cross country teams had a disappointing day at the 2005 NCAA National Championships. The women’s team, ranked fifth going into the race, came away with a disappointing thirteenth place finish. Similarly, the Edinboro men, who were ranked eighth in Division II, finished in nineteenth place.

The women’s team top finishers were Rachael Lanzel (St. Marys, PA/St. Marys Area) (73rd/23:39) and Michelle Kelly (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) (78th/23.44). Other women’s team finishers included: Julie Nemergut (Youngstown, OH/South Range) (23:50), Kiersten Buckley (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst Prep) (23:55), Lindsay Roberts (Wattsburg, PA/Seneca) (24:15), Kelly Richards (Edinboro, Pa/General McLane) (24:28), and Heather Wilmouth (Sugar Grove, PA/Eisenhower) (24:31).

Ryan Coon (Clymer, NY/Sherman) (33:52) was the top men’s finisher with a 67th place finish.

Other men’s team fishers included: Jared Lowry (North Canton, OH/North Canton Hoover) (34:48), John Moneyhon (Colombus, OH/Dublin Coffman) (34.56), Dan Field (Boston, NY/East Aurora) (35:25), Travis Prejean (Jamestown, NY/Jamestown) (35:33), Jeremy Boehm (Lewisberry, PA/Red Land) (36:10), Nick Hankins (Pepper Pike, OH/Orange) (37:19).
