CHINO, CA The Edinboro mens and
womens cross country teams had a disappointing day at the
2005 NCAA National Championships. The womens team, ranked
fifth going into the race, came away with a disappointing
thirteenth place finish. Similarly, the Edinboro men, who were
ranked eighth in Division II, finished in nineteenth place.
The womens team top finishers were Rachael
Lanzel (St. Marys, PA/St. Marys Area) (73rd/23:39) and Michelle
Kelly (Carlisle, PA/Carlisle) (78th/23.44). Other womens
team finishers included: Julie Nemergut (Youngstown, OH/South
Range) (23:50), Kiersten Buckley (Erie, PA/Mercyhurst
Prep) (23:55), Lindsay Roberts (Wattsburg, PA/Seneca)
(24:15), Kelly Richards (Edinboro, Pa/General McLane)
(24:28), and Heather Wilmouth (Sugar Grove, PA/Eisenhower)
(24:31).
Ryan Coon (Clymer, NY/Sherman) (33:52)
was the top mens finisher with a 67th place finish.
