Charleston (WV) handed the Fighting Scots an 81-75 setback.
Edinboro falls to 5-3 while the Golden Eagles are now 5-1.
Edinboro led 39-30 with 3:27 to play in the
first half, but it was mostly all Charleston after that as the
Golden Eagles forced numerous turnovers resulting in a series of
dunks and layups. The Golden Eagles scored the final nine points
of the first half to tie the contest at 39-39 at intermission,
then came out and scored the first basket of the second half to
complete an eleven-point run.
The two teams traded the lead until Charleston
took the lead for good at 46-45 on a tip-in by Robert Strickland.
That started a 12-0 run for the Golden Eagles as they built the
lead to 11 points at 56-45. Edinboro would cut the deficit to
three points at 63-60 at the ten-minute mark on Chris Ravellos
(Odenton, MD/Archbishop Spalding) layup, but Charleston scored
the next six points and Edinboro would get no closer than the
final margin.

led by Daren Tielsch (McKees Rocks, PA/Montour) with 22
points, his fourth 20-point effort The 68 senior added
8 rebounds, but the Scots were outrebounded, 37-29. Edinboro
managed just six offensive rebounds. Torry Mitchell (Erie,
PA/Central) added 18 points and 7 assists, with Ravello
dropping in 12 markers and pulling down 8 rebounds. Justin
Moore (Canonsburg, PA/Canon-McMillan) completed the
double-figure operatives with 10 points.

rebounds, with Eric Smith adding 19 points. The Golden Eagles
turned 25 Edinboro turnovers into 22 points. Both teams shot over
50 percent from the floor, with Charleston at 51.6 percent,
including 55.2 percent in the second half, and Edinboro at 50.9
percent. The Fighting Scots had allowed just one opponent to score
more than 70 points, and that was Mercyhurst this past Wednesday
with 76 in overtime.
Edinboro will break for finals before returning
to the hardcourt on Tuesday, December 20 when Bloomsburg visits
