Scots to Choose "All-Time" Sports Teams

In conjunction with Edinboro University of Pennsylvania’s upcoming sesquicentennial celebration, the University History Subcommittee is seeking input from the campus community and alumni in choosing an “all-time” all-star teams for each sport.

Sports included in the research and tabulation will be baseball, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s cross-country/track, football, golf, men’s and women’s soccer, softball, men’s and women’s swimming, men’s and women’s tennis, women’s volleyball and wrestling.

The breakdown will be as follows

  • 6 outfielders
  • 2 catchers
  • 5 pitchers
• MEN’S AND WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
  • 10 athletes named to each team
• MEN’S AND WOMEN’S CROSS-COUNTRY/TRACK
  • 10 athletes named to each team
• FOOTBALL
  • Offense
    • 10 interior linemen
    • 4 wide receivers
    • 2 tight ends
    • 2 quarterbacks
    • 4 running backs
  • Defense
    • 8 interior linemen
    • 8 linebackers
    • 6 defensive backs
    • 2 punters
    • 2 place-kickers
• GOLF
  • 7 athletes named to team
• MEN’S AND WOMEN’S SOCCER
  • 12 athletes named to each team
• SOFTBALL
  • 6 infielders
  • 6 outfielders
  • 2 catchers
  • 4 pitchers
• MEN’S AND WOMEN’S SWIMMING
  • 12 athletes named to each team
• MEN’S AND WOMEN’S TENNIS
  • 10 athletes named to each team
• VOLLEYBALL
  • 12 athletes named to team
• WRESTLING
  • 20 athletes named to team regardless of weight class

An athletic department sub-committee will tabulate the nominations. The respective teams will be announced throughout the 2006-2007 academic year in conjunction with each sports season and the sesquicentennial celebration.
