EDINBORO, PA – Edinboro University’s
Dave Niemira (Strongsville, OH/Strongsville) has been
named the PSAC Men’s Runner of the Week.
The junior was the top Division II finisher in
a field dominated by Division I runners at the Spartan
Invitational, hosted by Michigan State. Niemira finished ninth
with a time of 25:48 in a field of 112 runners. His closest
Division II competitor was 40 seconds behind in 16th place.
Niemira helped the Fighting Scots men’s
cross country team to a third place finish. Michigan was first and
Michigan State second.
This marks the second straight strong showing
for Niemira. He previously won the individual title at the Bill
Sudeck Classic, hosted by Case Western Reserve.
