EDINBORO, PA Edinboro University junior
Ryan McLemore (Cleveland, OH/St. Peter Chanel) has been named
the PSAC West Player of the Week for the period ending December
10. McLemore led the Fighting Scots to a pair of victories this
past week to improve to 6-2.
In a 63-57 win over Mercyhurst, McLemore made 2
of 6 field goals and 4 of 7 free throws. But its what he did
defensively and on the boards that stood out. The 69
forward blocked a career-high 9 shots and pulled down 8 rebounds.
McLemore posted his second double-double of the
season on Saturday as Edinboro picked up a tough road win with a
77-75 decision at Charleston(WV). He contributed 10 points and 10
rebounds, making 4 of 7 field goals and 2 of 2 free throws. In
addition, he blocked 4 more shots and had a pair of steals.
In his first season as a starter, McLemore is
averaging 7.9 ppg. and 9.8 rpg., ranking fourth in the PSAC in
rebounding. He has blocked 35 shots to lead the PSAC. He has moved
into sixth place in career blocked shots with 128.
After playing seven games in 15 days, the
Fighting Scots are off for final exams before returning to action
next Tuesday, December 19, hosting East Stroudsburg.
