EDINBORO, PA – One day after hosting
Gannon, the Edinboro University men’s and women’s
swimming teams faced another local rival. The Fighting Scots made
the short journey to Allegheny. The Gator women edged Edinboro,
107-98, while the Allegheny men handed the Fighting Scots a 121-84
defeat. The Edinboro women’s team is now 4-7, while the men
are 4-5.
Edinboro had four winning performances in the
women’s competition. Brooke Heath, Amy Corbran and Desiree’
Thomas each took part in two wins. The threesome was joined by
Jamie Tiano to finish first in the 400-yard medley relay with a
time of 4:06.43.
Heath finished first in the 100-yard backstroke
with a time of 1:01, while Corbran won the 200-yard IM (2:16.96).
Finally, Thomas won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25.47.
On the men’s side, Josh Corbran took part
in a both of Edinboro’s first place finishes. He won the
50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.35, and also swam a leg of the
winning 800-yard freestyle relay. He was joined by Nick Whiteman,
Alex Drake and Kyle Pittman, with the foursome finishing with a
time of 7:33.67. |
