Lanzel Captures First Place in 5,000-Meter Run at PSAC Indoor Championships
Edinboro in Ninth Place after First Day of Competition at Indoor Track Championships

EDINBORO, PA – The Edinboro University women’s indoor track & field team is in ninth place after the first day of competition in the PSAC Indoor Track & Field Championships at East Stroudsburg. A total of 12 teams are competing at ESU’s Koehler Fieldhouse.

Rachael Lanzel (St. Mary’s, PA/St. Mary’s) highlighted the Boro’s day as she brought home first place in the 5,000-meter run. The junior’s time of 17:27.27 easily defeated second-place Stephanie Williams of Kutztown, who finished at 18:03.66. Lanzel is a former outdoor track and cross country All-American.

In addition to Lanzel, freshman Erica Bourgeois (Boonville, NY/Adirondack) scored in the event as she finished eighth with a time of 18:45.93.
