The Fighting Scots needed nine innings to edge North Dakota, 3-2.

Jessica Lindamood went the distance, scattering nine hits.

Edinboro opened the scoring in the second. Abbey Goetschius reached on an infield single and advanced to third on a throwing error. Katelyn Gurgiolo followed with an RBI single between short and third.

North Dakota would take a 2-1 lead with single runs in the fourth and fifth innings, but Edinboro answered with a run in the bottom of the fifth. Goetschius got the inning going with a walk, followed by single by Gurgiolo and Vanessa Rose to load the bases. Dana Webb's single drove in one run, but Gurgiolo was thrown out at the plate and Edinboro could not push across any more runs.

With the international tie-breaker in effect in the ninth (placing a runner on second to start the inning), Danielle Arno started out at second and was sacrificed to third by Lindamood. Alicia Gordon's line drive down the third base line scored Arno for the winning run.
