EDINBORO, PA Former Edinboro University
mens basketball standout Jakim Donaldson continues to make a
name for himself overseas. Playing professionally in Spain,
Donaldson was recently named the leagues weekly MVP.
A 68 forward from Pittsburgh,
Donaldson is currently averaging 14.7 ppg. and 11.4 rpg. for
Ciudad de la Laguna Canarias. He is shooting 55 percent from the
floor and 66 percent from the line.
Donaldson was chosen the weekly MVP after a
dominating performance against Gestiberica Vigo. Matched up
against former Michigan standout and NBA performer Robert Tractor
Traylor, Donaldson led Ciudad de la Laguna Canarias to an 80-75
win. He finished with 18 points and 20 rebounds, while holding
Traylor to nine points and 11 boards. Donaldson made 8 of 11 field
goals and was 2 of 4 from the line.
Donaldson completed his Edinboro career in
2004-05, and currently ranks ninth in career scoring with 1,355
points, and is first in career rebounds with 1,100. He earned
first team NABC All-American honors and was the PSAC West Player
of the Year as a senior. |
