Game 2
EDINBORO, PA In a case of what a
difference two weeks can make, the Edinboro University softball

12-11, in the nightcap.
The losses drop Edinboro to 10-16 overall and

second and one in the third, with Slippery Rock countering with
two runs in the first, five in the second, and one in the third to
leave the score knotted at 8-8 after three innings.
Edinboro took an 11-8 lead in the top of the
fourth inning thanks to three hits and a pair of SRU errors. Webb
doubled in one run, and Jessica Lindamood drove in another with a
single. Back came Slippery Rock with an unearned run off Lindamood
in the bottom of the frame to make it 11-9 after four innings.
Slippery Rock inserted Horvath to throw in the
top of the fifth inning, and she held the Fighting Scots to just
two hits the rest of the way. The Rock, meanwhile, pushed across
three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to take a 12-11 lead.
Danielle Abbarno drove in a pair with a triple , and Rays
sacrifice fly scored Abbarno with the winning run. Edinboro went
down in order in the top of the seventh.
The 11 runs marked the second-highest total for
the Scots this year, and the 13 hits were tied for the
second-highest total. Slippery Rock ended with 16 hits, and Rose
and Lindamood also walked a total of five batters.
