Game 1
Game 2
EDINBORO, PA The Edinboro Fighting Scots
ended their four double-headers in four days by splitting with the
Crimson Hawks of Indiana (Pa.) 3-0, 3-0 respectively. Edinboro
record is now 16-18 overall but still remains above .500 in PSAC
West action with a mark of 9-7.
Game one saw 12 hits from Indiana (Pa.) and
Edinboro with one. Indiana (Pa.) was able to get out to an early
lead thanks an RBI double by Hillary Tutrani, followed by an RBI
single by Shannon Battison. The lone hit for Edinboro was off the
bat of Katelyn Gurgiolo (Stow, OH/Medina).
Edinboro was able to bounce back in
the second game taking a 1-0 lead out of the first inning. Vanessa
Rose (Akron, OH/Manchester) had the first RBI of the game
scoring Gurgiolo from third base in the bottom of the first. A
home run hit by Leanne Carmichael (Pinehurst, MA/Billerica
Memorial), helped but the game out of reach in the second
inning. Rose allowed a two-hitter and fanned nine batters on her
way to the victory.
Edinboro will finally get to take a break after
their bust stretch with a four day rest. The Fighting Scots will
return to action April 27 when the host California (Pa.). The
double header is scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
