EDINBORO, PA -- Edinboro athletics will once
again be bringing its show to Erie as the University
has announced plans to hold its 7th Sports Memorabilia Auction.
Slated for Wednesday, May 30, 2007, the event
will move to the Ambassador Center at the Courtyard by Marriott
and once again benefit the Fighting Scots 14-sport
intercollegiate athletic program, as well as adaptive athletics.
A trio of Pittsburgh Steelers- James
Harrison, Bryant McFadden and Ryan Clark- will
highlight the evening as guest autograph signers. The silent
auction will begin at 5:00 p.m. followed by the public autograph
session at 6:00 p.m. The live auction will conclude the event from
7:30-9:00p.m. Over 250 items will be up for bid that evening.
Tickets are scaled at just $5 for admission
while autograph tickets can be purchased the night of the event.
Autograph tickets are $30 and will get the holder three
autographs, one from each player. A maximum of three autograph
tickets can be purchased by any one individual.
The previous six auctions have combined to net
over $100,000 for the benefit of Edinboro University
student-athletes. The auction will once again feature numerous
types of collectibles including sports art from renowned ESPN and
Super Bowl artist Kevin-John Jobczynski.
This is once again a great
opportunity for Edinboro University to come to the Erie community
with a showcase event, said President Frank G. Pogue. This
event is special. Creating an opportunity for the Edinboro and
Erie communities to come together is very important. In addition,
we are excited about our Pittsburgh Steeler guests. To have a
chance to meet such quality individuals up close will be great for
the youth of our area, Pogue added.
Admission ticket requests should be made
through Todd Jay, Associate Athletic Director, at 814-732-1835.
