EDINBORO, PA The Edinboro University
football team will wrap up its second year of spring drills under
head coach Scott Browning on Saturday, April 28 with the Red-White
Game. The contest is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by
a team picnic with the families afterwards.
Browning is pleased with the progress his
Fighting Scots made since spring practice began at the start of
April.
I think weve really come
together and worked hard as a team, noted Browning. Weve
had to overcome some injuries and a terrible month weather-wise,
but Ive seen a lot of younger players step up and show us
theyre ready to contribute. We look forward to wrapping
things up with the spring game, and then want our players to
concentrate on final exams.
The Fighting Scots return nine starters on
offense and five on defense from last years team which
finished with a 6-5 record. While the Boro failed to win the PSAC
West championship for a fourth year in a row, the six wins marked
the most ever under a first-year coach.
Edinboro will open its 2007 season on Saturday,
September 1, hosting West Chester.
