EDINBORO, PA The Edinboro University
track & field team has a total of 15 qualifiers set to compete
at the PSAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships. Shippensburg
University is hosting the event at Seth Grove Stadium from
Thursday, May 3 to Saturday, May 5.
A total of eight men and seven women will
compete for the Fighting Scots. One notable exception is Rachael
Lanzel. Edinboros top distance runner and a two-time
All-American in track and also an All-American in the 5,000 meters
in track last year has missed a good portion of the outdoor season
due to an injury.
Among Edinboros mens qualifiers,
Franklin Duruobasa and Kyle Wunz rank the highest heading into the
PSAC Championships. Duruobasa will compete in the long jump, where
he is tied for the third-best jump in the PSAC this year at 227.25.
Wunz is a sprinter who will compete in both the 100 and 200-meter
dashes. He has the fifth-best time in each event, running a 10.91
in the 100 and a 22.20 in the 200.
Erica Bourgeois has the best showing among the
womens competitors, ranking sixth in the 10,000-meter run
with a time of 38:23.79.
Heres a look at the 15 Edinboro
