EDINBORO, PA – Ashley Pulman recorded a pair of goals to lead Edinboro to a 3-1 win over visiting Bloomsburg on Saturday night in women’s soccer action. The match was the first played on the new artificial surface at Sox Harrison Stadium. The victory boosted Edinboro to a 2-0-1 record, while the Huskies fell to 1-2-0.

Edinboro notched the first goal of the match as Pulman scored her first goal of the season at the 17:44 mark of the first half, assisted by Angie de Almeida. Pulman put on a nifty one-on-one move to defeat Bloomsburg goalkeeper Brittany Moses, and knocked the ball into the right side of the net from ten yards out.

Bloomsburg would tie the match on a goal by Meg Donlon, assisted by Kristine Preski, with 33 minutes gone in the first half.

The Edinboro attack came alive in the second half, outshooting the Huskies, 12-3. Pulman accounted for the game-winning goal at 70:49, once again using a one-on-one move to get past Moses. The goal was unassisted.

The Fighting Scots scored an insurance goal at the 79:47 mark as de Almeida knocked in a header from 14 yards out on a pass from Kara Ciacchini. The goal was de Almeida’s third of the season.

Edinboro outshot Bloomsburg, 16-7. Samantha Cairns picked up the win in goal, registering five saves.
