EDINBORO, PA – Edinboro University’s
Rachael Lanzel (St. Marys, PA/St. Marys) has been named
the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Runner of the Week for
the week ending September 9. This marked the first weekly award
handed out in 2007.
Lanzel finished first out of 155 runners at the
Bill Sudeck Classic, hosted by Case Western Reserve University, on
Saturday, September 1. It marked the second straight year the
senior captured the individual crown at the season-opening race.
Her time of 17:53 set a new course record and helped the Edinboro
women’s cross country team finish fourth out of 14 teams.
Lanzel is a two-time All-American in cross
country who finished fourth a year ago at the NCAA Division II
National Championships. She was later named the PSAC Runner of the
Year.
Edinboro returns to action on Saturday,
September 15, competing in the Wisconsin-Parkside Midwest Classic. |
