Description: Students are assigned positions in state government executive offices under the Governor's jurisdiction and attend seminars with leading elected or appointed public officials and media figures. Interns must be available for placement during the summer for 8 - 10 weeks, generally beginning in late May and ending in mid to late August. Selection consists of a panel of distinguished judges. Emphasis is placed on a student's background, civic endeavors and career interests, and on a designated written essay on a political science theme. Winners are announced in late March at a luncheon in the Governor's Residence.

Description: Initially, the KPGA intern would receive a weeklong overview of the Keystone Public Golf Association's services and functions, to include the following: Course & SLOPE Rating, general member services, and general Association business. The internship is a two-summer internship based upon the academic calendar (2 three month periods).
Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in day to day operation of the Association to include but not be limited to the following areas: current Tournament Schedule, Course & Slope Rating, Handicapping and Handicap Compliance, Rules of Golf, on-site work with various types of golf facilities, i.e. Resort, upscale, family owned and municipal and; assist at a PGA tournament under the direction of the Tri-State PGA Director and the internal operations of the Association. Assist in the development and implementation of new programs. Assist in overseeing the set-up, implementation and follow up of site selection, development of advertising and promotion, and finalizing arrangements for a KPGA Regional Tournaments and KPGA State Final.
