Description: The Pennsylvania Treasury Department is now accepting applications for our paid summer internship program for college students. A Treasury internship offers students a challenging and rewarding work experience while providing a competitive salary in the Commonwealth’s capitol.
As Pennsylvania’s bank, Treasury plays a critical role in state government operations. Treasury acts as the custodian, investor, and disburser of the funds of nearly all state agencies. Treasury also offers a wide range of programs and services to Pennsylvania families, such as helping to make college possible with the nowU Pennsylvania College Savings Program; returning abandoned and unclaimed property to its rightful owner or heir; offering Pennsylvanians an alternative to payday lending through the Better Choice program; and funding energy efficient home improvements through the KeystoneHELP low-interest loan program.
Offering a wide variety of internship assignments, Treasury’s internship program affords college students a chance to gain valuable experience in various aspects of public finance and policy. Our program provides interns with hands-on learning opportunities to further develop their skills. Working alongside Treasury management and staff allows interns networking opportunities and the ability to contribute to something greater than themselves- helping to keep the wheels of state government in motion and providing valuable services to Pennsylvania families.
Applicants should have a major in Public Policy, Finance, or Information Technology, strong computer and administrative skills, and writing and researching abilities. We ask that all interested candidates send a cover letter introducing themselves and explaining how an internship at Treasury would benefit their educational and professional aspirations. The letter should be accompanied by a resume and a writing sample and be mailed by March 1, 2008 to:
