All Planned Gifts allow you to reduce the value of your taxable estate and ultimately maximize the amount you pass on to your loved ones. Planned giving options include:
Bequests
A gift to Edinboro University by will or trust is a creative way to help the University in the long term, while still sustaining full control of your assets during your lifetime. Each bequest to Edinboro University serves as a legacy to future generations and helps secure the future of the organization. Every bequest – no matter what the size – provides benefit to our students, professors and researchers.
You may make a gift of cash, securities, real estate or other assets by providing in your will or trust for a bequest to Edinboro University. Your gift may be a specific bequest of a designated sum or may be a percentage of your residuary estate. The value of your bequest to Edinboro is fully deductible for estate tax purposes. A bequest can be a useful and advantageous addition to your estate plan, whether outright or to fund a planned gift.
Charitable Reminder TrustsA charitable remainder trust is a powerful tool for (1) providing funds for you and your loved ones, and (2) making a generous gift to Edinboro University. It allows you to transfer assets into a separately managed trust that will provide you and/or your beneficiaries with payments for life or for a specific term of years.
