The Foundation is a not-for-profit organization incorporated under the Pennsylvania Nonprofit Corporation Law of 1988 and Internal Revenue Service section 501(c)(3).
As a not-for-profit foundation, the Foundation is not restricted by the investment policies of the University as provided by the Pennsylvania Legislature and may invest in the full market.
The Foundation's endowment portfolio is invested in the full market and based on market conditions. The Foundation manages a total portfolio per annual audits, with a market value of $6,891,613 and $7,393,295 as of June 30, 2004 and 2005 respectively.
Annual audits report Foundation total assets of $8,885,019 (includes $969,189 in pledges) and $9,083,454 ($665,620 in pledges) as of June 30, 2004 and 2005 respectively.
In 2004/2005 over $450,000 in scholarship awards were made, impacting an estimated 500 students.
PNC Advisors, First National Trust and Common Fund currently manage the Foundation investments.
