JEAN BLOOM REHABILITATION COUNSELING SCHOLARSHIP

Dr. Jean Bloom was instrumental in the formulation of the rehabilitation counselor education program, established now as the Master of Counseling – Rehabilitation Track Program.  Dr. Bloom desires to provide increased support to students who are dedicated to the profession.  The recipient must be a graduate student enrolled in the Master of Counseling – Rehabilitation Counseling Program who demonstrates a sincere interest in pursuing a career as a rehabilitation counselor.  The student must meet the minimum academic performance requirements of the program.  Financial need is a factor. 

 

RUTH AND DEWEY DAVIS GRADUATE ENDOWMENT

Ruth and Dewey Davis created this scholarship in honor of both of their mothers, Beulah C. Rice Tubbs and Helen Saterlee Davis.  The recipient must be pursuing a Master of Education degree in Secondary Education or Elementary Education.  The student must be a current or returning teacher from one of the following school districts: General McLane, Penncrest, Millcreek Township, Wattsburg, Fort LeBoeuf or Iroquois.  The successful candidate must also teach one of the following subjects: English, biology, chemistry, geology, physics or a hybrid of the sciences, such as biochemistry, nuclear physics, neurobiology, etc.  This scholarship is renewable up to two academic years, but not necessarily for the duration of the pursuit of the master’s degree.  Financial need may be a factor. 

 

DR. RICHARD A. FORCUCCI SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was developed by Mr. Russell Blount in honor of Dr. Richard Forcucci.  It is awarded to an Edinboro University graduate student studying in the field of speech-language pathology.  The recipient must be enrolled in the Edinboro University graduate studies program, majoring in the area of speech-language pathology, be enrolled in a minimum of 6 graduate credits during the fall and spring semesters, and have earned a minimum of 20 graduate credits with a minimum QPA of 3.5.  An application must be completed and the Speech-Language Pathology Department Scholarship Committee must be involved in the selection of the recipient.  Financial need is not necessary.

 

DEBRA HUDEK BEMILLER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was created in memory of Debra Hudek, by her husband Stephen.  Mrs. Hudek graduated from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology in 1976; received a master’s degree in Educational Psychology in 1977 and completed the School Psychology Certificate Program in 1979.  The recipient of this award must be pursuing a master’s degree in the Educational Psychology Program or certification in the School Psychology Program.  The student must have a minimum 3.5 QPA in graduate coursework to be eligible.  Prospective students must complete an application and submit a one-page essay (double-spaced) explaining career goals, which will be evaluated by the Scholarship Committee.  The student must also submit a resumé and a recommendation letter from a faculty member in the Special Education/School Psychology Department.

 

DR. AND MRS. ERNEST R. LaFOLLETTE MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was developed by Elise LaFollette in memory of Dr. Ernest LaFollette, a former faculty member.  It must be awarded to a Master of Education student, who is attending either full-time or part-time, and whose program emphasizes the application of instructional technology. Financial need is not a factor.

 

BRUCE MANVILLE MORRISON GRADUATE TUITION LOAN FUND

The recipient of this loan must be enrolled in an Edinboro University graduate study program or post-master's program.  The borrower must have completed at least one semester of graduate coursework and be enrolled in at least two graduate courses at the time of the loan. 

 

FLORENCE AND DENISE OHLER SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was provided for by the Estate of Florence Ohler.  The recipient of this award must be enrolled in the graduate studies program in the area of counseling (school guidance, student personnel services or rehabilitation counseling) or school psychology with a minimum of 6 credits per semester and must have earned a minimum of 12 graduate credits with a QPA of 3.5.  Financial need may be a factor.

 

DENNIS D. RANALLI SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was established by Mr. Russell Blount in honor of Dennis D. Ranalli.  The recipient of this scholarship must be accepted in the graduate studies program majoring in the area of speech-language pathology and must have graduated from Edinboro University with a bachelor's degree in speech and hearing disorders (BASHD) with a minimum 3.0 cumulative QPA.  The recipient must be enrolled on a full-time basis during the fall and spring semesters.  The scholarship is not renewable and financial need is not a factor.

 

DR. JAMES S. B. TAN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship is awarded to a student who is enrolled full-time in the school psychology master's program, has earned a minimum of 18 credits with a minimum cumulative QPA of 3.0, demonstrates financial need, and submits an essay and resume.   This scholarship can only be awarded during the Fall and/or Spring semesters.
