Math & Computer Science Scholarships

ALPHA AWARD IN MATHEMATICS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE

This scholarship was developed by Dr. K. Aiyappan Nair, a professor in the Math and Computer Science Department for more than 30 years.  Awards are to be provided to a student who is recommended by the faculty of the Mathematics and Computer Science Department under the direction of the Department Chair.  The student must: be a Mathematics or Computer Science Major, have completed a minimum of 36 credits, maintain an overall QPA of 2.0 and a B+ average in a mathematics or computer science curriculum.  Financial need may be a factor. 

 

FRANK HAWTHORNE MATH SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship fund provides 6 annual awards to mathematics majors that have a minimum earned QPA of 3.4. Candidates must have 550 SAT score in math. High school class rank, grade average, and the high school program are also considered.  Financial need is not a factor.

 

MATHEMATICS AND COMPUTER SCIENCE FRESHMAN SCHOLARSHIP

This scholarship was developed by alumni, faculty, administrators, and friends of the University.  It provides an award to a freshman majoring in mathematics or computer science, or secondary education mathematics. The recipient must: be a Pennsylvania resident, have graduated in the top 20 percent of his/her high school class, and have scored a minimum of 550 on the mathematics portion of his/her SAT. Financial need is not a factor. This scholarship can only be awarded during the Fall and/or Spring semesters.
