This scholarship has been created by Mr. Herman D. Tomer and the Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) alumni of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. It has been established to encourage strong academic excellence, foster leadership skills and enhance the personal development of deserving students in pursuit of their higher education degree. The recipient must be a full-time student, pursuing an undergraduate degree, with preference to a student who is a a current member of Tau Kappa Epsilon. Students must have completed at least 30 credit hours, with a minimum cumulative 2.75 GPA. The successful candidate should have a record of leadership within his chapter and campus organizations and must submit a one- to two-page essay. Financial aid may be a factor.

RYAN GRAHAM MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is awarded to an active member of the Alpha Phi Omega fraternity who must be enrolled full time with a minimum of 64 credits and a cumulative QPA of 3.0 or greater. Preference is given to elementary education majors; second preference is for any area of education; otherwise no major course of study is required. The financial aid office in the event of more than one candidate will determine greatest residual financial need.
The Highland Ambassadors were established in 1997 at the suggestion of President Frank G. Pogue as a way of highlighting and recognizing students who personify the ideals of the Edinboro Family. Highland Ambassadors are students who have a great sense of pride about their association with
Awards are made to sophomores with a minimum QPA of 3.5. Priority will be given to a resident of an off-campus building managed by James Properties. This award is renewable for up to a maximum of three years providing a 3.3 cumulative QPA is maintained.
This award is given to an education major, with preference given to a student who is a current member of Kappa Delta Pi. Undergraduate candidates must have completed 50 credit hours, including twelve credits in education with a 3.4 GPA. Graduate candidates must have completed 15 credit hours toward a Master’s Degree and earned a 3.5 GPA. The successful candidate must submit a one- to two-page essay describing his or her career goals, including plans to continue in the education field, on-campus and off-campus work experience, volunteerism, leadership roles, and active participation in projects or professional organizations. Financial aid may be a factor.

This scholarship is to be used to enhance access to education for incoming students majoring in Latin American Studies at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. The recipient must have a minimum SAT score of 1200 and/or ACT composite of 24, and a minimum high school cumulative GPA of 3.0. The student must be enrolled on a full-time basis during both the Fall and Spring semesters. In the event a qualified freshman Latin American Studies major cannot be identified, the award will be made to an upper-class Latin American Studies major, as determined by the Latin American Studies Scholarship Committee. This scholarship is not renewable and can only be awarded during the Fall and/or Spring Semesters.
The recipient of this award must be an international student enrolled full-time at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. The student must be a Political Science major or be involved in the study of International Relations and have a minimum QPA of 3.0. A selection committee appointed by the Department Chair of Political Science will conduct the scholarship award process.
This scholarship has been established to enhance access to education for current or incoming students of Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. First preference is to be provided to eligible students who are employees of Marquette Savings Bank or members of their immediate families. If a student associated with Marquette Savings Bank is not identified, the scholarship award may be provided to another eligible student, based on the discretion of the Financial Aid Office. The eligible candidate must be in good academic standing, or meet the minimum academic standards for enrollment. Financial aid may be a factor.

Lindsey Myers graduated magna cum laude with honors in 2003 from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in communications and a minor in Spanish. She was a member of Alpha Chi, the National Collegiate Honor Society. This scholarship was established in her memory by her parents to encourage the same love of education and enthusiasm for living that Lindsey demonstrated during her short life. Two scholarships are awarded to students who plan to enter the ministry upon completion of their education. One male and one female may receive this award annually.
This award is offered to a student who is majoring in the arts or sciences. Eligible candidates must have a 3.0 cumulative QPA with a 3.5 QPA in their major and must have completed a minimum of 32 credit hours of study. Similarly, the recipient may not have any major infractions against the student code of conduct. Financial need is a definite factor in selection. This award is renewable for up to three years.
The purpose of the Santelli Diversity Scholarship is to promote educational access with preference to persons within diverse groups, including but not limited to: racial and ethnic minorities; single parents and female heads-of-household with children; non-traditional (i.e., older adults, displaced workers, senior citizens); and persons with learning or physical disabilities. Mr. Herman (Herm) D. Tomer received his bachelor’s degree in Mathematics Education from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania in 1971. A TKE member, Herm is an incredibly active Edinboro alumni, volunteering and serving on a variety of committees, including the Alumni Association Board of Directors, Homecoming Golf Tournament, Alumni Speaker, Reunion Weekend and Career Hotline. This scholarship is representative not only of the Tomers’ generosity, but also their strong belief in the importance of providing students with every opportunity to achieve their educational goals. It is the Tomers’ hope that their philanthropic examples will encourage and motivate those students to support a non-profit cause themselves one day. The recipient must be an incoming, full-time student, pursuing an undergraduate degree. Preference will be given to a student who has evidence of exemplary community service; in particular, former or current “Big” or “Little” from Big Brothers & Big Sisters. The student must have exceptional character as demonstrated by volunteerism, work experience, and/or participation in community activities. Financial need may be a factor.
Members of the Weber family have established this scholarship in memory of their parents, Charles and Gertrude Weber. The recipient of this award must be enrolled full-time, have a minimum QPA of 3.0 with a 1000 SAT score, and be from the city of Pittsburgh. Financial need is a determining factor.
James F. Williams Scholarship
Mr. Williams has established this scholarship to promote educational access to students who are active or willing to become active in gay/lesbian/transgender issues, regardless of sexual preference. First preference will be given to a student who is active or willing to become active in gay/lesbian/ transgender issues, regardless of sexual preference. The student must be pursing his/her first undergraduate degree and have a minimum of 30 earned credits. The scholarship is not automatically renewable; all qualified students must reapply for the award each year. The student must complete an application and submit a brief essay explaining how he/she plans to use his/her education and its derived benefits to advance gay/lesbian/transgender civil, academic, social, legal and employment rights/improvements. Selection of the recipient will be determined by the appropriate Scholarship Committee, which may include members of the University’s gay, lesbian, bisexual and transsexual club. Referrals may be garnered from the Student Financial Support and Services Office, faculty, and student applications. Financial need is a factor. A student must first apply for financial aid before receiving this scholarship.
