Teacher candidacy is a set of procedures and standards for completing teacher education programs at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. Through this policy,
Upper level education courses cannot be scheduled until candidacy is approved.
IF YOU ARE AN UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT you should apply for candidacy when you meet the following criteria:
A QPA of 2.8 must be maintained to remain in candidacy.
You should submit your application by 4:00 p.m. on the following dates:
Applications are to be submitted to the Office of the Dean of Education, 330 Butterfield Hall. All applications must be complete or they will not be accepted. For special circumstances see your advisor.
Applications must include a copy of your Praxis I scores (please include this even if you had scores reported to Edinboro University of PA), and be signed by you and your advisor (Faculty Support Document located on the back of the application.)
IF YOU ALREADY POSSESS A BACCALAUREATE DEGREE and are pursuing a first teacher certification, you must meet the following standards:

IF YOU ARE ALREADY CERTIFIED IN PENNSYLVANIA and are getting an additional certification, you do not need to apply for candidacy. Along with your coursework, you only need to pass the required Praxis specialty area test in order to be certified in your additional area in
