Reading Clinic

What is the Reading Clinic?

The Reading Clinic program is designed to train graduate students enrolled in the course READ 712 Reading Clinic to diagnose and remediate reading problems while providing a free tutoring service for tri-state area elementary and secondary students. The Clinic operates year round. Referrals are made by parents, teachers and other school personnel. Approximately 15-25 students are served each semester.

How do I get my child into the Reading Clinic?

Before a student can be admitted into the Reading Clinic, he or she must first have an evaluation done by a graduate student in the Reading program at Edinboro University. These evaluations are part of the class titled "Analysis and Remediation of Reading Difficulties". This Analysis class is typically offered in the Fall and the Summer semesters. Once the child has had this evaluation, they are then eligible to be chosen for the Reading Clinic. The Reading Clinic is offered in the fall, spring and summer semesters.
