FINANCIAL AID PROBATION/SUSPENSION
Financial Aid Probation
Any student who fails to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) requirements will be placed on a financial aid Probation for not more than two semester.
If at the end of the probationary periods the student does not meet the requirements for SAP, all aid will be cancelled.
In order to meet probation requirements students must meet the minimum requirements or have a successful appeal to reinstate aid.
Students who are on probation are encouraged to seek academic and/or personal counseling. Counseling services can provide the student with additional support, which may help alleviate obstacles that hinder satisfactory academic progress. Students on probation are further encouraged to consult with a financial aid counselor prior to withdrawing from any classes or if midterm grades are failures.
Students who fail to meet the requirements of probation are placed on Financial Aid Suspension.
Financial Aid Suspension
Students whose financial aid has been suspended are not eligible to receive federal student aid. This includes: Federal Pell Grants, Academic Competitiveness Grants, National SMART Grants, Federal SEOG, Federal Perkins Loans, Federal Nursing Loans, Federal Stafford Loans and Federal Plus Loans. Other programs may be effected if the federal standards for progress is required.
