The following steps are necessary for completion of an application to Edinboro University:


1. APPLICATION FORM. Please type in all portions which apply to you, then print the application. Be sure to sign your application. Your application should be mailed to the Graduate Studies Office. In order to process your application in a timely fashion, please submit all requested information by March 15 for the fall semester, August 15 for the spring semester. (Please note that we do not admit International Students in summer)


2. TRANSCRIPTS. All official transcripts should be requested from the school(s) conferring bachelor's degree and forwarded directly from the school to the Graduate Studies Office. These Records must be translated to English and must demonstrate fulfillment of all graduation requirements, which would be the equivalent of an American education bachelor's degree.

3. T.O.E.F.L. SCORE. Students from countries where English is not the official language or the medium of instruction must have their T.O.E.F.L. scores sent to Edinboro University. If the T.O.E.F.L. exam is unavailable in your country, you must submit alternative documentation (three letters of reference for English proficiency) to prove English language proficiency. The T.O.E.F.L. institutional code number for Edinboro is 2651. The minimum acceptable score is 550 for paper based and 213 for computer based tests.


4. REFERENCE LETTERS. The student will provide three letters of reference, using the forms to come.


5. APTITUDE TEST. An official copy of the score earned on each section of the Aptitude Test of the Graduate Record Examination must be received in the Office of Graduate Studies.

6. OFFICIAL FINANCIAL STATEMENT. The affidavit of support must be received from all students in order to issue a visa document to enter the United States. Edinboro University offers financial assistance (tuition waiver) to all graduate international students. Edinboro University must be assured that you will have sufficient funds available to meet all tuition and living expenses. Complete the affidavit of support, have it certified and return it with you sponsor's certified bank statement.

7. APPLICATION FEE. An application fee of $25.00 (USD) must accompany all applications. Please make your money order payable to: EDINBORO UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA.

Upon enrollment, a report of medical history is required.


INSTRUCTIONS FOR TRANSFERRING INTERNATIONAL GRADUATE STUDENTS (if applicable)

1. CLASSIFICATION. Students who have been enrolled in any college or university other than Edinboro since undergraduate school graduation, regardless of length of time attended, are classified as transfer students. Transcripts from all previous colleges/universities are required for transfer students. Courses taken at the graduate level at previous institutions will be evaluated for possible transfer credit toward graduation from Edinboro University. Send course descriptions translated into English to aid in this Evaluation.

2. TRANSCRIPTS.

3. VISA CLEARANCE FORM. If you are currently enrolled in a school in the United States, a visa clearance form will be mailed to you to forward to your current U.S. institution. It must be completed by the foreign student advisor or designated school official. This document will attest to your legal status with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service. This document must be completed prior to admission at Edinboro University.

NOTE:
All documents submitted to the University on behalf of a student's request for admission become the property of Edinboro University and cannot be returned. The Graduate StudiesOffice will maintain an incomplete application for two years. After that period of time, a new application will be required.
