Overview:
The
Department of Elementary Education offers an online graduate
program enabling students to obtain a Master of Education
degree with a focus in Early Childhood Education. The program
qualifies individuals certified in Elementary Education
for certification in Early Childhood Education (N-3).
The
online Master of Education: Focus Early Childhood Education
program is designed to be completed by a cohort of students
in less than two years of part-time study. Students begin
classes in the fall semester and complete two courses
per semester in a predetermined sequence. A one week summer
residency is completed during the first summer of the
program.
Certification
procedures in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania require
that the candidates must pass the PRAXIS Early Childhood
Exam required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education
before certification will be granted. Candidates seeking
certification in another state shall follow the corresponding
procedures required by the given state. |
