Admissions Criteria

First year students entering the Edinboro University of Pennsylvania are eligible to apply to the Dr. Robert C. Weber Honors Program if a) they have a Composite ACT of 25 or higher or they have a SAT Total of 1100 or higher and b) they rank among the top 15% of graduates in their high school class or have a high school grade point average of 3.50.

Transfer students with twelve (12) or more college credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of 3.40 or higher are eligible to apply.

Students must be fully admitted to the university before their application to the honors program will be processed.

All EUP students who have earned twelve (12) or more hours of EUP credit hours with a grade point average of 3.30 or higher are eligible to apply to the program.

Final admission into the honors program is determined by evaluation of this application which includes a written essay of 500 - 700 words. The essay is an essential component of the admission decision. The Director reserves the right to deny admission to any student who does not exhibit strong writing skills, who seems otherwise unprepared for the honors curriculum, or who does not exhibit the motivation to pursue an honors degree designation.

The Dr. Robert C. Weber Honors Program is an interdisciplinary curricular program for students who desire access to small honors courses and who wish to pursue the honors degree designation.

The Residence Life & Housing Office will assign students to the Honors Living/Learning Floor who indicate it as their first choice on the housing application. This will occur only after students are posted as Honors Program members on the university student database.

Note: Students failing to earn at least a 3.00 cumulative grade point average during their first semester of participation in the Honors Program are not eligible for continued enrollment in honors courses in the subsequent semesters.
