Pipe Band Finishes Strong

 

  

Band Places 2nd at Edinboro Games – May 20th 2006

 

            For the second year in a row the EUP Pipe Band played well and took home high honors. Even with a small ensemble the band was able to earn 2nd place in a field of seven other bands. The pipe section played very well earning a 1st and 2nd from the two piping judges.

 

 

 

Scholarship Update – May 22nd 2006

 

            Fundraising efforts for the pipe band scholarship are going extremely well. Established in September of 2005, the fund is nearly half way to the endowment level of $10,000.  Thank you to those who have donated. A list of donors can be found on the scholarship page.  

 

 

 

Scholarship Fund established – September 2005

            In order to perpetuate the tradition of the performance of the Scottish Arts through the medium of the pipe band at Edinboro University, a scholarship fund has been established. The purpose of the fund is to attract pipers and drummers to attend Edinboro and participate in the pipe band.  All donations can be directed to the Edinboro University Foundation, Alumni House, 210 Meadville Street, Edinboro, PA 16444. Indicate "pipe band scholarship fund."

 

Edinboro Pipe Band Wins Home Contest - May 21st, 2005

            The Edinboro University Pipe Band won first place at the annual Edinboro Highland Festival.  In a field of five bands Edinboro took a 1st and 2nd in piping, a 1st in ensemble and a 1st in drumming. 

 

Pipers Tops at Scots wi' Shotts - March 2005 

            On March 5th the Edinboro University Pipe Band took away top honors from the forth annual Scots wi' Shotts piping contest. The contest was hosted by Elyria's own Lochaber Pipe Band and judged by members of the Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia Pipe Band from Scotland. The band placed first in their division with a solid performance. Piper Michael Nugent took second in his solo piping event. Way to go Mike and band for a job well done!
